I can tell you . . .

I can tell you what it is
I can tell you what it was
I can tell you what it did
I can tell you what it does

It’s my salvation, my saving grace
It’s my station, it’s my place
It’s my Heaven, it’s my Hell
It’s why I rise, it’s why I fell

It’s my purpose, it’s my drive
It’s the reason I’m alive
It’s the sight of you right now,
With sun-kissed skin tanned to brown

Your mind full of questions, your heart full of love
Your feet on the ground, your eyes up above
It’s the way you open your arms for me
It’s the way you give me everything

Your fear and your wonder, your joy and your pain
Your innocent adventures that drive me insane
The terror you taught me
And the joy that you brought me

It’s my salvation, my saving grace
It’s my station, it’s my place
It’s my Heaven, it’s my Hell
It’s why I rise, it’s why I fell

It’s my purpose, it’s my drive
It’s the reason I’m alive
It’s the sight of you right now,
With sun-kissed skin tanned to brown

It’s knowing you depend on me
To show you what you can be
To steer you through living dangers
Keep you safe with friends and strangers

To watch over you as you grow
To help you learn, to help you know
The wonder that’s inside of you
The miracle involved in all you do

It’s my salvation, my saving grace
It’s my station, it’s my place
It’s my Heaven, it’s my Hell
It’s why I rise, it’s why I fell

It’s my purpose, it’s my drive
It’s the reason I’m alive
It’s the sight of you right now,
With sun-kissed skin tanned to brown
